Zwischenkriegszeit

The series examines Berlin as a place in which past, present and possible future overlap at the same time.

After the euphoria of the 1990s the present appears fragile today. Pandemic, social conflicts, climate debates and the return of war to Europe have changed the atmosphere of the city. At the same time traces of past wars remain visible in the urban space.

In the tradition of subjective documentary photography the pictures arise in direct contact with the city and its inhabitants. They show people and places in which the ambivalences of the present condense – between memory, diversity and latent uncertainty.
